long before it became a company.

Just as Aurora was a twinkle in her mother's eye long before she made it earthside, Aura existed long before we ever gave her a name.

Where one had a gap, the other filled it.

Heather Sandy and Heather Malhiot have known each other for many years, but their friendship really blossomed while working together during one of the craziest times the world has ever seen: COVID.

In 2020, their very different skill sets collided when they found themselves in the middle of a healthcare startup with a lot of big ideas, but very little execution, medical oversight or foundation.

As the Heathers began working together, they quickly realized something: where one had a gap, the other naturally filled it.

Five years later

Two careers, built in parallel.

Heather Sandy had fully left her traditional hospital role as an anesthesia provider and built a career in regenerative medicine, helping companies develop and scale peptide programs. Heather Malhiot had spent the last decade building and scaling companies across the wellness space.

When Heather Sandy began thinking about what the industry truly needed, she knew Heather Malhiot was the person to build it with. The two reconnected, and the idea for Aura began taking shape.

The Wild West

Enormous potential, very little infrastructure.

After years in the peptide and regenerative medicine space, Heather Sandy had seen the Wild West firsthand: incredible therapies and enormous potential surrounded by inconsistent operations, questionable compliance, poorly trained teams and programs being built without the infrastructure needed to actually scale.

Heather Sandy brought the clinical knowledge, medical background and ability to teach complex concepts in a way people could understand. Heather Malhiot knew how to take the vision, translate it into clear execution and build the team, systems and structure needed to make it real.

And that is how Aura was born.

A Note From the Heathers

When we started Aura, we weren’t trying to create another consulting company.

We had already spent years inside this industry. We’d seen incredible practitioners with huge visions struggle because no one had ever given them the infrastructure to bring those visions to life.

We’ve also seen what happens when exciting therapies move faster than the education, systems and standards surrounding them.

We believe this space deserves better.

We want providers to feel confident in what they’re offering. We want staff to understand why they’re recommending something, not simply memorize a script. We want patients to feel educated and cared for. And we want practice owners to be able to grow without feeling like they’re rebuilding the plane while flying it.
